ARTIST'S STATEMENT

As long as I can remember I have had a pencil in my hand.
I love to draw. Although I've taken numerous drawing
and art related courses my talent is basically natural.

My portrait work takes an average of 40 to 60 hours to complete
while some of my larger pieces have taken as many as 150 hours.

I am a realist. I love to depict texture.
It is a challenge to duplicate texture in realism
but that is part of the fun of drawing.
I get a great deal of satisfaction when I finish a piece and it "works".
The challenge is to create a piece of Artwork so that
when people see it they are amazed and wonder
"How did she do that?" Then I know it worked.

My work has been shown in Galleries from
California to South Carolina and I have sold my Artwork
throughout the United States, Canada, Italy and Japan.
